I finally gave in and started my own Clapotis scarf/shawl/wrap after I found out that my friend Pixie (the only other Delmarva Knitter) had plans to make one too. So we started a Clapotis knit-along in our little knitting group of two, and also posted this knit-along at the getStitchy! forum. (If anyone else would like to join in with us, please do! Just go to that forum I linked to, register and get stitching!)
Right now, I’m on repeat three in the third section of straight rows. The image at left is a shot of my progress from about a week ago. I am substantially farther than this though, and will post updated pictures soon.
I’m using size 6 bamboo circulars instead of the pattern’s suggested size 8, and I’m using the yummy SeeJayneKnit Yarns Luxury DK in the custom colorway Austin Peacock that she made for me at a special request. When I knit with this yarn, I’m indulging in total eye candy with the beautiful stitches the yarn makes, and I love it — it’s really soft and enjoyable to work with. Thanks again, Jayne!
