My kind-hearted sister and her one precious cat moved here from Arizona a little over a year ago, and then all of a sudden her backyard was crawling with stray cats! Since she lives inside city limits and is quite near the road, she’s been having a really difficult time making sure that they stay safe. They are brought inside when no one’s home, and also to overnight in the basement. Sadly, there used to be five of them, but one ventured onto the road and is now buried in her backyard.
Although they are strays (Mama is the mother of Punkin, Blackie and Pinky — all females), my sister took each of them to the local humane society and had them spayed. While they were recovering from their surgeries, they spent quiet time in the basement of her house recuperating in a very large dog cage, so they are also litterbox trained. They are indoor/outdoor cats right now, but it would certainly be best if they were exclusively indoor cats (unless of course, their new homes happened to be very large farms that were very far from the road). Mama is the oldest, but she is still a very young cat (less than 2 years old), and her kittens are roughly teenagers now.
So, if you live on the Eastern Shore and would like a sweet kitty to become part of your family, please consider one of these furry little sweethearts! I will personally help with transportation up to 50 miles away. Please comment only if you’re seriously interested! Thank you!
