Not too long ago, I started my own blog at blogger.com because I finally wanted to see what all the fuss was about regarding blogging. When did blogging first hit the Internet? Years ago? Yeah! It all started in the early- to mid-’90s. (If you don’t believe me, trust Wikipedia — just do a search for “blogging origins”.)
And that’s how it goes with me. When a craze sweeps the nation (or world), it usually takes me a good bit of time to pique my interest. Books, movies and fads… if everyone has to read it, see it, wear it, play it, talk about it, or in other words, become obsessed with it, I usually stay away from it… far, far away. Remember that film with Daniel Day-Lewis that everyone raved about, “Last of the Mohicans”? I still haven’t seen it! And might I add, have no desire to do so. And so it goes; it has taken me 12 years (according to Wikipedia) to experience this act of blogging.
I like it. There isn’t enough time for me to sit down and write something every day and keep it updated frequently, and so I don’t know how long it will last. At the moment, it’s just another little side hobby, kinda like cooking. Enjoy it while it’s here, because it could be gone tomorrow if it turns into a chore. (That’s what happened to cooking!)
So I’ve decided to make the switch from blogger.com to wordpress.com for a number of reasons. The bad news is I can’t import my posts from new blogger to wordpress. The good news is that I don’t have many posts on blogger! Now the transfer begins… stay tuned!
Transfer update: Making the switch wasn’t as hard or tedious as I expected, and now it’s almost done, minus some tweaking here and there.
