Blog. This word reminds me of blob, or glob, or bog. Neither are words that bring up a nice mental picture, are they? Not really.
What is a blog? Derived from web log, it can be an online journal or diary, among other things.
Why did I make a blog? I’ve been told that journaling is a healthy way to deal with issues. Someone even gave me a journal a couple years ago so I could write down my thoughts, but it is tucked on a book shelf somewhere yet uninked. Since I learned to type (and type fast) back in high school, actually putting words on paper with a writing utensil has become a thing of the past. And so I type.
In truth, thanks to my husband’s grandmother who taught me to knit, I have become obsessed with everything and anything that has to do with knitting. This includes knitting patterns, knitting needles, knitting books, yarn, people who knit, Knitty Gritty (on TV), online knitting forums, and of course… knitting blogs! Since I am the one making this blog, it is only logical that the person doing the typing types about what she is obsessed with, but knitting won’t be the only topic, don’t worry.
There’s a lot going on around here. There is never a dull moment in the Furry Family household, and that’s putting it mildly. There’s me, my husband, 5-year-old son, 13-year-old son, one dog, two cats, a bird and a fish, plus some mice hiding somewhere (caught 2 last week). So, stay tuned for more episodes of Adventures in Furryland…
welcome!
